Beetlejuice 2: Monica Bellucci joins the cast of the film

Monica Bellucci has joined the cast of Beetlejuice 2 and will play the role of wife of the ghost Beetlejuice.
As announced by The Hollywood Reporter, Monica Bellucci will play Beetlejuice’s wife in the sequel to Tim Burton’s classic 1988 horror film. Revolutions and the James Bond movie Spectre. Her acting career also includes several high profile European projects. No name has been given for the character of Monica Bellucci, and it’s unclear if she has any connection to other versions of Beetlejuice.
Monica Bellucci joins a cast in which Michael Keaton reprises his iconic lead role and also includes Catherine O’Hara, Justin Theroux and Jenna Ortega. It was recently announced that Beetlejuice 2 will be released on September 4, 2024. The film is based on a script by Wednesday series creators Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, who will reunite with Netflix series star Jenna Ortega in Beetlejuice 2 as she plays the daughter of a major character from the original film, Lydia Deetz. Winona Ryder will take over the role of Lydia, now a mother. Tim Burton also worked with Jenna Ortega on the Wednesday series.
Beetlejuice focused on the ghost character played by Michael Keaton, who is hired by two other ghosts who are unhappy with the family that moved into the house they live in in their afterlife. So far, plot details for the sequel have been kept under wraps, though the number of returning main cast members suggests it takes place some time after the 1st film.
Beetlejuice 2 will haunt theaters starting September 4, 2024.
