Jennifer Lawrence Champions the Return of Bermuda Shorts
If you’re on the fence about the fashion set’s renewed interest in Bermuda shorts, you’re not alone. But maybe Jennifer Lawrence’s latest outfit will persuade you to pick a side.
On Tuesday, the Don’t Look Up star headed out in New York City championing the controversial trend—and making it look impossibly chic while doing so. Lawrence wore a baggy black pair of Bermuda shorts, which she topped off with a blue-and-white pinstriped button-up featuring a crisp white collar and rolled-up sleeves.
She finished off the look with more black pieces, opting for black ballet flats with a bow-tie adornment on the toe, a black crossbody bag, and black cat-eye sunglasses.
This isn’t the first time Lawrence has heralded the return of Bermuda shorts.
Earlier this year, the Oscar-winning actor put a California twist on nine-to-five workwear by stepping out in the trendy bottoms.
Her business-ready Beverly Hills ensemble featured a navy blue blazer with a breezy pair of matching wool Bermuda shorts by the Row. Underneath her blazer, she wore a plain black scoop-neck tee, which she coordinated with her accessories: a black iteration of Prada’s Re-Edition 2000 nylon purse and black Dior shades. She capped off the ensemble with ivory leather Mary Jane flats, also by the Row.
