Greta: PlotYoung Frances who, tried by the death of her mother and with an uninspiring job, realizes that life in New York is not what she dreamed of. Having fallen into profound loneliness and financial difficulties, one day the girl finds a bag on a subway seat and decides to track down the owner. The purse belongs to Greta, a wealthy lonely widow. A strong bond is immediately established between the two women and in a short time their friendship turns into a morbid relationship, with dangerous and disturbing implications that will upset Frances’ life.
Greta: CuriosityGreta was presented at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 6, 2018, in Italy it was released directly to home video from January 20, 2022. The film was shot in Dublin, Toronto and New York.

Director Neil Jordan has described Greta as an homage to 1980s thriller films. He tried to create a claustrophobic and tense atmosphere, inspired by the classics of the genre.
During filming, Neil Jordan encouraged Isabelle Huppert to improvise some scenes to add an element of surprise and unpredictability to her performance.
